Difference between FUE & FUHT Method of Hair Transplant
We at Sai Cosmetic centre Pune India, practice two technique of hair transplantation: FUE and FUHT (Follicle Unit Hair Transplant) also have known as Strip Method of hair transplant. Both techniques are unique and useful with little advantage and disadvantage over the other. In brief we can sum up the both technique as below:
FUE
FUHT (Strip method)
1.Done without scalpel and stitches, follicles are extracted by 0.5/0.7/1mm punches from donor area.
2.Complete head is shaved.
3.Follicle destruction rate is higher, less the experience of the surgeon more is the rate of destruction of follicles.
4.No scar.
5.In one sitting maximum 2500 to 3000 follicles can be transplanted.
6.Way of giving local anaesthesia is same in both method of hair transplant.
7.Grafts extracted by this method are much more sensitive as they are left with less protective tissue around, this leads to less survival rate.
8.Donor area is large and visible after surgery.
9.Multiple sessions are to be taken.
10.Good method if smaller area is to be transplanted.
11.Cost of this hair transplant is MORE.
12.Post Operation pain is less.
13.Numbness is not there.
14.Surgery time is much more.
1.Scalpel is used and stitches are given. Strip of 10-12 cm in length and 1-2 cm in depth is taken out.
2.Small portion is shaved, which is completely invisible after surgery.
3.Under magnification the rate of destruction of follicles is very less.
4.Scar is present which can be minimised by super trichophytic closure.
5.In one sitting 5000 to 6000 follicles can be transplanted easily.
6.The way of giving local anaesthesia is same in both the ways.
7.Survival rate is higher as tissues are more around the follicle.
8.Incision is not visible immediately after surgery.
9.Singles session is required.
10.Good method if large area is to be transplanted.
11.Cost is Pocket Friendly.
12.Anti Inflammatory drugs are to be taken for days.
13.Numbness can last for several months.
14.Less time is required.
